My learnings from the AICD Company Director’s course

I recently graduated from the AICD Company Director’s course. It had been on my radar for some time, but when one of my clients invited me to be a NED, I knew it was time to get the qualification and upgrade my knowledge of best practice.

Firstly let me say, that this was not one of those tick-a-box situations…..The pre-reading alone was two arch-level binders and took 40 hours to complete. The course itself required a lot more intellectual effort than I had anticipated.  At times it felt like working a second job! But, as hefty as the commitment was, I certainly didn’t leave empty handed.
